Danny Gokey - More Than You Think I Am (Lyric Video)

This is the Savior I know expressed in one of my favorite songs.

Another Writer

This time it's Lyssa sharing stories. She has a notebook that she writes in constantly. She wrote me this during church Sunday.   Not bad for a seven-year-old. :-)

A Sunday Afternoon

Because sometimes a girl just needs to get out on her own and treat herself.  Grilled chicken sandwich with cole slaw and sweet tea at one of my favorite delis. Yes, I ate out alone.  I'm discovering at the ripe old age of 36 that I actually prefer it sometimes. Ignoring the "cell phones off" notice. I'm such a rebel. I highly recommend this film. It was really good.  The ending was somewhat predictable, but the film itself was nice and steady.

Babies

Image
Ok y'all...I posted this on Facebook yesterday... The full photo... What kind of babies do you think I mean?? I'm asking because I've had two people ask me what kind of babies and I'm trying to decide if I should bless their hearts in that very special southern way or if I'M the dodo. LOL

Week in Pictures:Real Life

Image
Driving home from BoBo's house Saturday afternoon.  Cookie o'clock Saturday evening.   My wish for everyone.  One of the exhibit cases we filled last Wednesday only to have to remove on Monday.  A therapeutic Milky Way.  Tuesday afternoon walk after yet another Spring shower.  Alyssa won "beehive" for kindness, good behavior and excellence in school.  My attempt at a topknot. Fail.  Ready for bed while Mama was watching Nashville.  Yet another storm rolling in Thursday evening. Friday here I come!!!

Guess What DAAAAAY it IS.

Hump Day, baby. Too bad I'm not a camel. haha So today's positives: 1.) Duh. It's Wednesday. Halfway through the work week and the weekend is peeking at me from just around the corner. 2.) I went out for lunch at a new Mexican place with my friends and it was deeeeeeeee-lish. I feel pleasantly satisfied but not sick-full AND all but the queso on my nachos was healthy. (beans, steak, tomatoes, lettuce, olives, guacamole) So...WINNING! (Is that phrase still a thing? Or am I sooooooo 2010?) 3.) Troll Face is gone until Monday which means Jana is dancing the cha-cha...in her mind at least. And she's definitely not referring to herself in the third person anymore. ;-) (If you don't know who Troll-Face is, I can't help you because of reasons. But if you've read my blog and recall a certain short story I wrote not so long ago I'll bet you could guess.) In other not-so-positive news, I'm struggling a bit with a particular friend. I hesitate to disc...

Selena Gomez & The Scene - Love You Like A Love Song

An oldie but a goodie. I'm in a music mood and stalking YouTube. ;-)

Tuesday's Positives

Image
1. I tried an iced coffee at Starbucks this morning for the first time and it was AWESOME. I wish I'd gone for the Venti instead of the Tall. 2. There was cake in the lounge for Library Worker's Appreciation Day and it had the thick frosting on it. My tongue is now maroon. #SchoolColorProblems 3. The fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate the library but it was a false alarm. The library didn't burn down. Yay! 4. One of my cousins told me last night that he loves me like he loves French fries. I told him I hoped that meant he really loved me, cause, you know, I could tell someone that I love them like I love grits and that would mean I hated them. His reply? He could live off French fries. So...wow. LOL In other news, this fits me to a T.

Three Positives For Today

Lately I've been really struggling to enjoy life to the point of not being able to pin-point anything positive about it. The Bloggess inspired me to start looking for happy in every day. Here are today's positives/happy: 1. I finally braved the scale and realized that I've lost six pounds since January. I know it isn't a lot but since I'd been GAINING for the past two years, a six pound loss is magical! 2. I had a flat on my car yesterday and fretted about what to do. It was in my driveway so it wasn't like I needed roadside assistance but I hated to bother Daddy. BUT, he didn't even complain today when I finally got around to asking him. He even volunteered to take it to be repaired! I have a GREAT daddy. 3. I haven't been snippy with anyone today! All last week I was a monster and felt REALLY bad about it. I spent some time with Jesus this weekend and He spoke me out of my monsterhood. We're working on improving how I let my emotions rule me...

Easter 2015

Image
Lyssa-Bear in her cute little Easter frock. ;) Emmy with her handsome beau. They've been dating for a while now and she finally brought him to meet the family. Poor guy. haha Efan-Man, doing what he does, climbing trees in his Easter clothes. Notice the little photo-bomber in the back. He's a treat, I tells ya! I love that they help each other hunt eggs. We had a great time of worship and family fun. Everyone but BIL made it home for the day. He was out of town for work and couldn't get back in time. I really like Emmy's BF. He's a very kind and friendly young man and from everything I've heard, he's very respectful of our Emmy. He even passed Bobo's tough inspection so we know he's a winner! :-D Hope everyone else had a great Easter, too.

Happy Easter

The greatest love story... Be blessed for He has gone ahead to prepare a place for you!

Real Life

Truth.  Things I write just for Instagram due to frustration with lackadaisical coworkers.  Things lackadaisical coworkers bring me because we love each other anyway.  Them's Cadbury Mini-eggs, btw. #yum  I've had a very frustrating but oddly also satisfying work week. On the other hand, my kitchen at home looks like it threw up because I've been too tired to clean it. No pics of THAT! #YoureWelcome    I'm looking forward to the three day weekend, though. This week, y'all. Actually, ALL THE WEEKS, Y'ALL. It ain't no joke. I feel like a broken record and I know I sound like one. Y'all probably wanna be like, "It's called work, Jana. Get over it." But dang. It seems it gets crazier and crazier with no end of the crazy in sight. I'm thankful for the job and the work, for sure. But when I start dreaming about work things like I've been dreaming this week? Oh, heck no!   In the category of "I...
