LOL Of course, I realize that some of these things aren't limited just to the south, but the south's where I'm at so...(And I was born and raised here, so I CAN say what sucks about it!) 1. 101 degree temperatures 2. 115 degree heat indexes 3. humidity so thick it feels like fog 4. humidity so thick it sticks to your face and clothes 5. mosquitoes big enough that one could carry off a small child or pet and two could carry off a grown woman 6. hamburger steak and chicken fried ANYTHING. (Ugh! I feel sick.) 7. seat belts that get so hot in summer the buckle melts the skin off your fingers 8. mimosa trees 9. ticks 10. four wheelers buzzing up and down the road at odd hours 11. lack of anything more cultural than the local community theatre which is more cliquish than a Beverly Hills High School 12. hurricane season 13. people thinkin' that "ain't" ain't a word! Okay, so I'm dull. Sue me. :-p Thirteen Things I Did Last Night 1. Rode twenty minutes to nowhere. (meaning: I rode my stationary bike for twenty minutes.) 2. Received a ton of sugar. (meaning: The Devil Pup covered my face in kisses.) 3. Tested my culinary skills. (meaning: I fried a couple eggs and put 'em on toast.) 4. Further encouraged the creation of dish pan hands. (meaning: I washed dishes. It was about time, too. Some of them were getting kind of grody.) 5. Traveled back in time. (meaning: I got nostalgic and super bored so I dragged out the mixed tapes I'd made six years ago for my college graduation party. Does anyone even remember mixed tapes anymore?) 6. Thirteen Things In My Refrigerator A conversation on one of the threads I frequent inspired this one. 1. Mayonnaise. For those rare and odd occasions I have stuff to make sandwiches. I'm not sure how old it is, though, so I might need to toss it. 2. Maraschino Cherries. I bought them to make some mini-cheesecakes and of course, it's more economical to buy the super huge jar than the little one, right? Doesn't hurt that they're tasty. And good with ice cream. NOT that I keep ice cream in my freezer. Much. 3. String Cheese. They're an excellent source of protein and calcium AND they pair well with... 4. Marinara (pizza) Sauce. Thirteen Lines From My All Time Favorite Movie, Steel Magnolias Don't beat me up if some of these aren't EXACT. I did it from memory. And I KNOW I left out some really great lines. Involved, funny, fun. 2. My So-Called Life . I thought that show was so cool. (still do!) I was the same age, same grade as the characters so it was a great alternative to my REAL life. 3. Party of Five . As if Matthew Fox wasn't wonderful enough, it was a good drama with lots of angst and again, a teen about my age who I wanted to be like. lol 4. Homefront . And here-in lies the beginning of my love affair with Kyle Chandler. Sadly, it only last like a season and a half (or so) and I haven't enjoyed any of his TV shows since. Total bummer. Thirteen Things I Can't Live Without 1. Christ. He’s the man in my life and the ONLY person who I know loves me…faults and all. 2. Music. Soother of all bad days, spirit lifter, dance initiator, it’s my go to when I need comfort and joy. 3. Food. Okay, so we ALL need food to live but it’s an obsession with me.
