Baker Girl

Image
So...I made a cookie cake for a co-worker's baby shower... It was my first time really trying to decorate anything for a non-family event and, while not perfect, I'm fairly proud of it. The recipe for the giant cookie can be found here. It turned out to be a nice, chewy cookie that cut easily and served up nicely. The buttercream icing was nice and fluffy and not too overpoweringly sweet which I loved. I found the recipe for it here.   My head is swollen a few sizes too large now, though, because more than one person assumed it was purchased from a bakery. :blushing: P.S. The paw print sugar cookies are in homage to the university mascot as this was a university themed baby shower. ;-)

Fortune?

Funny Girl

You know, most dogs past five years old get referred to as "senior" dogs. Certainly, dogs past ten are qualified as "senior" dogs. And they're often portrayed as being tired, decrepit creatures past their prime. If dogs could have canes and combovers, these senior dogs described by people on the internet (usually humane societies on Facebook trying to find these poor dogs a home) would have them. Well, let me tell you a little something about "senior" dogs... My fluffy devil pup will be 12 in June and she's still got more spunk and sass in  her than most puppies. Yeah, I have to be more careful in what I feed her and she doesn't hold out as long on walks as she used to. But she's no old lady. She's fun and funny and can still bring death from the ankles down when necessary. Ain't nothing "senior" about this gal.

Road Trippin'

Soooooo...Two weeks ago I did this... Funny story about this photo: So, DD said I needed to get the touristy shot in that spot but when we got there, there was this random guy just standing there staring at his phone. He wasn't taking a selfie or waiting on anybody, just standing there right in the spot I needed to be in. We waited a minute or two for him to move but he just kept standing there staring at his phone. Finally I told DD to see if my big ol' mass of a body could block him out and sure enough, we were able to angle me in just the right position to block him out. So there's, like, a whole other person hidden behind me. Booya for fat girls! haha And in case you don't know where that is, that, mah frands, is New Orleans, baby! Yep, I got a life for exactly two days and road tripped down to NOLA with some friends (I kinda have friends? I think?) to see a live taping of one of our favorite podcasts, My Favorite Murder . Introvert that I am, I actually d...

My Favorite (human) Faces

Bet you'd have never guessed these would be my most photographed human faces. And I say "human" because we all know my absolute favorite face is of the furry kind. ;-)   Aaaaaand I also just realized that my face is up there in the "most photographed faces" on my phone. Trust me when I say my own face isn't one of my favorites...I just take a lot of selfies. Oops!
