Present and Accounted For

Just busy. You know, werking . Novel concept, that. ;-) Just thought I'd let ya'll know in case you were wondering whether or not the boogieman had gotten me. Which, last night, I thought for sure he had. Took the Devil Pup out around 9:30 or so and ya'll, I don't know what was in the woods but I didn't stick around to find out. Me and the Libster booked it back inside. The neighbors dogs started barking and Libby was all alert and there was something rustling around in the woods that I couldn't see. Didn't help at all that I'd just watched the season premier of Ghost Hunters , but I was thinking more along the lines of something or someone living. Not fun.

Scary Facts 101

After 28 years, my eyebrows have finally decided to start corresponding with my hair color. Yeah, folks. I had mostly blond eyebrows and dark hair up until the past year or so. Don't know what's up with that. I mean, not that I liked looking as though I didn't have eyebrows it's just--I've lived so long without them, my face looks weird to me now. :-/ On the flip side, now that they're getting dark, I have to pluck them! Yikes! I've never had to pluck before. It sucks getting old. Or old er anyway. You know, eyebrows aside, there's a lot of other things that have changed as I've gotten older. Say, for instance, my body shape. I've always been heavy but up until the past couple of years or so, it was fairly well distributed. Now it seems that a little bit more than I'd like is settling around my gut. Not perty ya'll. Not. Perty. And it makes all my clothes fit wonky, too. Clothes that used to fit perfectly gape in strange places. And eve...

What I did on my vacation... Gazing up at her dear old Aunt Jana. Getting ready to roadtrip. Libby's the perfect babysitter. Sittin' pretty. Takin' a snooze in her mama's arms. Gettin' kisses from Mama. Chillaxin' With Cousin, Emmy. With Mama and Daddy.

Off Day

In case you were wondering about the idiot message from before, I was just a total wreck yesterday. Like a majorly messy train wreck. I kept spilling stuff (thank God for the lids they put on coffee!), stuff kept jumping out of my hands (my poor friend L., bless her heart almost got beaned by a handful of sugars and a coffee lid), bumping into stuff and people. I waved like a blithering idiot to this snotty guy I don't even like and as soon as I did it I would have crawled into a hole had I been able to find one. I mean, the guy already grimaces at me like I'm pond scum whenever we pass and NEVER speaks unless he needs something and here I am waving at him like he's a long lost buddy. I said cring inducing idiot stuff to people. You know, the kind of innane goofy "I have no conversational skills whatsover" type stuff that had me slapping myself on the forhead as I walked away. It was just one of those totally off days when I'm so far off that if the earth were...

Confirmed

I'm an idiot. A clumsy, stupidhead, ridiculous idiot. *sigh* Can I run away and hide now?

Proof

...that this shy girl puts on her big girl panties and sings in church. LOL You can't see me really well (I've really gotta teach my mother how to operate the zoom on her camera!) but that little distant blob in the black top and black and white skirt standing to the right is me singing (and flubbing it up) Sunday morning. I missed like a half a verse. Oy! But I notice no one's plugging their ears so I must not have sucked terribly bad. Or they're all to polite. lol And you can't really see him, but PM is sitting on the stage to the left. In other news, I have no other news. Nothing interesting anyway. I'm still sort of pining. lol (and being rediculously silly. Must remind myself that I'm not 13!) Am entrenched in Susan Andersen's latest book, Coming Undone . She rocks. Have I mentioned that before? :-) Anyhow, I didn't know it till I started reading it that it's a sequel to an earlier novel, Hot and Bothered which I also loved. Just in a wealt...

Coming Back to Chaos

And how. A girl goes away for a week and they pull a complete fruit basket turnover on her. They've MOVED Mrs. B (my best bud and one of the ONLY people who make this job bearable) downstairs. Yeah, it's just two flights down but it may as well be Siberia. I'm still pouting and depressed. I mean, yeah. They've been saying it's going to happen for like a year now and I suppose I'd convinced myself that it wasn't going to happen. And then they picked the week I was gone to actually do it. *sigh* But I had a GREAT week with Sis2 and Lissa. I so did not want to leave. I haven't gotten to have such quality time with my sister in AGES and Lissa...well, she almost makes me rethink my whole "don't want no babies" mantra. LOL She's such a sweetie. Even when she's fussy and crying and won't sleep when you want her too she's precious. It was so great having the days be just the three of us lazing about like a bunch of good for nothings...

What Is It...

with men and sports??? Ugh! Seriously, if there are any men out there who AREN'T into sports please let me know. Seems all the dudes I'm in contact with these days are sports fanatics. (preacher man is leading the pack, btw) Gotta watch the game/hear the game/etc. Blech! What's worse, they all expect me to be all excited about sports too. They try to get me to talk about the game, the score, etc. I don't know NUTHIN' 'bout no game. Maybe the score but only if someone told me what it was. I'm certainly not going to check to see what it is. I mean, I know I live in a college town and everything but seriously. This little southern girl? Couldn't. Care. Less. In other news... Welcome back to the land of cyber fun, Sara! I missed ya! To answer your question (the one you left in the comments) I haven't gotten my copy of Mirror, Mirror yet. Will definitely let you know what I think about it when I read it. I hope I don't hate it. Judy Baer's like ...

Life's A Beach

Rife with hurricanes, choppy waves and lots of seaweed washed ashore. I'd much rather have sun and sand all the time. But then I'd get bored, right? Or maybe I just need to relax and let the waves crash where they will. It's not as though my bitching and moaning and getting all frazzled out is going to change anything. It just makes me that much more frazzled and the minute I get frazzled the whole world (my world, at least) goes to hell. I've seriously got to just let it go. Nothin' I can do about it. So yesterday was actually good. I think. I don't remember a lot about it. I know I checked in a lot of periodicals, had tea and fudge stripe cookies at break and I think I had meatloaf for lunch. Probably the only memorable thing about it is that we had a fire drill late yesterday afternoon. That was fun. Meandering enmasse out the front door and onto the drill field to joke and goof off for about thirty minutes. I really DO need to refresh myself on the emergenc...

I'd Rather Be...

That's Miss Lissa, btw. She's 3 weeks old now. And I get to spend All. Next. Week. with her. *big cheesy grin*

On a Brighter Note

Because for every storm there's a ray of sunshine, right? ;) I just ordered a buttload of books by three of my favorite authors. Judy Baer, who writes for Steeple Hill Cafe and Love Inspired, (and is one of the only inspirational authors I read) has three books out right now. One from June, Mirror, Mirror (that I missed somehow), one from September, The Baby Chronicles (a sequel to her awsome debut SH Cafe, The Whitney Chronicles) and one available as an October pre-order, Sleeping Beauty . Then there's Susan Andersen who wrote the fabulous Just For Kicks last year has a new title out available from the HQN line; Coming Undone. And Tara Taylor Quinn has a new SuperRomance out titled, The Baby Gamble. Not that I need any new books. I'm ordering them faster than I can read them, these days. LOL Pretty soon I'm going to have more unread books than I have read books. And that will be sad and overwhelming because I have a TON of keepers on my shelves. hehehehe

When's It Gonna Be Somebody Else's Turn?

Huh? Cause I'd really like to know. I'm tired of it being my turn. I need a break. *sigh* So you know there's drama, right? This is me you're talking to. Just call me Miss Constant Drama. Or CMD for short. So I'm sitting at home Saturday, minding my own business and things are going pretty good at first. I got up early, went to town and spent exactly my budget on groceries. Came home, cleaned the kitchen (an hour long task), finished the last few pages on one of my mother's photo albuming projects and am feeling pretty good. I reward myself with a movie. Me and DP settle in and watch and as I'm sprawled on the couch I notice it just keeps getting hotter and hotter and I'm starting to sweat. The DP is panting and so lethargic she won't hardly move. So I take her outside to revive her and notice that it's awfully quiet outside. I walk around to the back of the house where the outside unit of the a/c's at and it's not running. And yet, my a/...
