Merry Christmas from Dixie

Well, Mississippi, anyway. That Alabama song, if you've heard it, Christmas in Dixie has always been one of my favorites. If you haven't heard it, where in the heck have you been all your life? ROFLOL So yeah, this is my very last post to all you lovely loyal peeps who find it in your hearts to keep up with my insanity. Well, my last post this YEAR, anyway. Unless, you know, I decide to come back later today and harrass ya'll some more. Which is entirely possibly cuz I'm mean like that. ;-) But before I get to all the sappy yadda yadda Merry Christmas see ya next year crap, here's what's happened since I left ya'll yesterday. My neighbor. I'm beginning to wish he'd get sucked up by aliens and forced to live as a man slave on Mars or something. Or, you know, at LEAST keep his redneck from interferring with my life. *sigh* So, yeah, he's not white trash as I previously stated. Dude is all Redneck. I got nuthin' against Rednecks seeing as I...

Blind Outrage

Lost: One can Cappaciano Delight Slimfast. Last seen wrapped in a plastic Wal-Mart bag in the bottom drawer of the staff lounge refrigerator. If seen please tell whoever is drinking it that THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES! Honestly, who would want to steal a Cappaciano Delight Slimfast? Needless to say, I had to eat five stale Pringles and a handful of stale Cheetos for lunch--all that was left in my cabinet in the lounge. Actually, they were my mom's but she's not here and she wouldn't care. They were, after all, stale. Blech! But really, it's Slimfast. Yeah, it ain't cheap but if you're hungry enough to steal food from the staff lounge refrigerator, why not the Lean Cuisine pasta that was in there? Why a bloody Slimfast? Just because it doesn't have a name on it doesn't make it fair game, dangit! *sigh* The last time I got stolen from in the staff lounge, it was an entire box of Lipton Green tea with Orange, Passionfruit and Jasmine. Again, not ch...

Yeah, I'm a mean Aunt. I take "butt shots". LOL I couldn't resist this one, though. It was just too cute. She was actually helping Nana dust. If you look to the left, though, you can see a puppy butt crack, too. ROFL ( Photo Removed Due to PERVS searching for "baby butts" and "little girl underwear" and stumbling onto this innocent post. SHAME ON YOU, PERVS. I HOPE YOU ROT IN HELL!!) I don't have a butt fetish. Swear. You know, the child does actually have more pajamas but these happen to be her favorite. If you recall from last year's Christmas decorating post, she's wearing these same exact ones. Something I, mean auntie that I am, gleefully pointed out to her. Click here and scroll down a bit if you don't believe me. ;-) But I digress. hehehehe (I don't actually, but that phrase makes me sound really smart. :-P~~~) After she finally finished dusting (and goofing off and being silly) she convinced Bobo to take he...

Revelations

You know, I put a lot of crap out there when it comes to Sis1. I badmouth her, go on and on about how I dread her visits, talk about how she annoys me. But you know what? I'm the bitch. She's actually a good sister. Yeah, she probably wouldn't give me a kidney if I needed one but she'd search high and low for someone who would. lol I don't know. It just really hit me this weekend. I'm the terrible sister. It's all me. Not to say that she doesn't have any bad qualities. She does. We all do. But I'm worse because I judge her for them. She merely accepts all of mine as being just part of who I am. And really, a lot of the things that annoy me when it comes to her are things that have nothing to do with her really. It's this nasty little thing called pride. And it's my pride that gets me all up in arms and annoyed and defensive. I don't have a lot. What I do have isn't by any standards all that great. It's sufficient, yes. I'm th...

Jingle Bells

Mommy smells, the spider laid an egg, Cavalier broke it's wheel, and Libby cracked her head. Okay, so I do bathe, it was the starter that glitched and it was Libby's toe she cracked, but STILL. LOL First time I sang the "Batman smells" version of Jingle Bells to Emmy she got so tickled she snorted. It's right up there with the Grinch song, if you ask me. ;-) So Today's Friday. Waaaaa-Hoooooooo! The boss is out today. Double Waaaaaaa-Hooooooo! Sis1 is coming tomorrow and staying at my house. Triple Waa--*stutters, places hands on hips and glares* Wait a fricken minute, here! This was supposed to be GOOD news. *lifts eyebrow and checks her list* Oh, right. Here we are. Got my wheels back yesterday. Triple Waaaaaa-Hooooooo! There. That's better. You know, there are days when I totally wish I were the kind of dumb-butt it takes to air work related grievances on the internet. But seeing as how I'm not, I'll just give a big spitty :-P~~~~~ to the PTB. I...

Claiming it...

"I can do everything through Him who gives me strength." Phillippians 4:13 Thanks to my pal Aurelene for reminding me of this scripture!

Back where I started...

Apparently I didn't learn my life lessons the first time around. Cuz yeah, I'm back where I started. Myred in financial muck. *sigh* I'm not complaining. I'm not. I had my good cry last night and talked to Jesus and turned it over to Him. That's all I can do. He's promised to never leave me nor forsake me...to never give me more than I can handle and that if I seek Him I shall find Him. So once more I'm leaning on the ever lasting arms of God. So I'm guessing you've realized that the car repairs didn't quite meet my budget, right? ;-) If it were just the one thing I'd have sighed relief with only the slightest wince and gone about my way. The ignition switch (the cranking problem) while not quiet the $100 or less I was praying for is totally do-able. The radiator though...well, that was the crying jag I went on last night. But, you know, once I turned it over to God I felt a lot better about it. It isn't a crisis. I've been driving wi...

In constant prayer...

that the repairs to my car don't max my credit card. Yeah, I took it in this morning. Thankfully the guy who was there when I brought it in was one that I'm both familiar with and don't mind dealing with. Even though I babbled through my problem with it and had a sudden case of the chatterbox syndrom, he was nice, took lots of notes, asked co-herant questions and seemed to actually listen when I answered them. So, yeah. Pray that the repairs are of the affordable and easy kind. Like, say, you know, just a little wire that needs plugging back in or a little fuse that can be replaced. SOMETHING quick, simple and inexpensive. And when I say inexpensive like, you know, less than $100. Preferably less than $50 but I have to be realistic, right? On to brighter news, The Devil Pup and I made it through last night. While it did actually rain yesterday, I was blessed in the fact that the rain had stopped by the time I got home last night and while I did still have to "bag"...

Rain in the forcast...

Did I not just say that my luck would bring rain??? *sigh* No, it's not actually raining yet but the weatherman said this morning that it's coming. 55-something percent chance today and tomorrow. And me and Libby haven't quite yet figured out this whole "covering the cast" thing. I covered it this morning with a sandwhich bag and a rubber band and before she got in the house it came off. Luckily there wasn't any dew on the ground. So...not looking forward to rain. Speaking of rain, though, when it rain, it does pour. Sunday morning I called my mom to get her oppinion on what to do about Libby and she told me some more bad news. My dad's dad was in a car accident Saturday night. A car pulled out in front of him and he hit it. He's in his 70's, not the best of health, either, so that sent him in an ambulance to Tupelo. He was in ICU until yesterday when they moved him to a room. So far, he's doing okay. He's got a really bad cut over his eye ...

On The Injured List...

Not me, this time. The Devil Pup. :-( Yep. We had a little accident Saturday night involving my foot landing on hers. She was running from me when I was trying to put her to bed and well, our feet collided. *sigh* She limped around all Saturday night and yesterday. Got up this morning and she didn't seem all that much better so I called her vet after I got to work and talked to her about it and she said to bring her on in. Two hours and $148 later she's sporting a lovely neon green cast and an "alien" cone collar. Her middle right toe is fractured. *sniffle* You know, it's awful enough to see my little baby in pain but to know that I did it, even though it was a pure accident, is still a crushing blow. I cried and cried Saturday night right along with her and got up crying Sunday morning. My heart just aches watching her hobble around trying to play and run but not being able to. And it was awful enough when I thought she was just bruised but to know that she...

Thank God...

for little miracles. (Although, is there such a thing as a "little" miracle?) After mucho prayers throughout the day yesterday, when I finally got to leave for home, I went out to my car, a constant prayer on my lips and...IT STAYED CRANKED! On the first try, no less. *sings* Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so, when it's cold and dark outside, He will crank my car for me. So, Jana got an angst free trip home. Well, almost angst free. The heater got a bug up it's butt and wouldn't work. And the radio was on the fritz and shorted out. So I got a cold and silent trip home, but hey. I got home. Won't hear no complaints from me. Nada. And wonder of wonders, the stupid flatbed trailer was gone from in front of my mailbox, too. See? God DOES answer prayers. You just gotta BELIEVE. :-) So yeah. It was COLD last night. As in, icey winds and frozen fingers and toes, cold. (Yeah, I know. It's ten times more frigid elsewhere but I'm a delicat...

Because I Need Cheering Up, Darnit!

Libby (aka The Devil Pup) and Scarlett (aka Her Highness) back in October (?) when I dogsat Her Highness. There might be two dogs in the world more different than these two, but I doubt it. (and yes, now you know why I need that new couch. Mine's ugly, outdated and falling apart. Hazards of being a.) poor and b.) prone to hand-me-downs. Isn't that look Scarlett's giving Libby just priceless? I can just HEAR her snarking on my poor silly Devil Pup. Note the box in the botton left corner. This is where my TBR books are. Just in case you're wondering. ;-) And this, my friends is what happens when Her Highness has had enough of the Devil Pup. If these were two chicks in a mud pit some dudes would be going wild right now, huh? LOL And to end this photastic excursion, that would be me with the Devil pup. I'm almost sure I'm telling her to be still. And yeah, this is the best shot I had. The other one had me looking like a dope, mouth open, eyes crossed...the whol...

Two Days Past

It's been a hectic (and somewhat annoying) two days. I was back in the land of the living yesterday but dumb blogger wouldn't let me blog. And then when it WOULD let me blog, I couldn't because...well, there are people who love to get in my business around here and well, I didn't want to blog with them standing over my shoulder. No, I don't mean that. It wasn't anyone trying to get in my business. Just someone stopping to chat that I didn't really want to get up in my business. Because, you know, it's cool and all to announce my business to the world wide web but to people I live and work with? Not so much. Ain't that strange? The funeral for my aunt went well. It was a lovely service. Got to see (and be ignored by) several people I haven't seen (or been ignored by) in a long time. It's terrible that the only time you get to see some people is when someone dies. *shakes head* Anyway, Tuesday. We had fun, Mama and I. Went to the mall, went to ...

When Plans Go Awry

So, you remember me saying how I had no plans for the weekend? Nothin' to do. Nowhere to go and no folks to see? Plans? Well, they can form in an instant. Sis2 called me at work Friday. She and Goofus had had a brainstorm earlier and decided that this would be the perfect weekend for me to go to the Delta and then treck with them to go shopping. I could even bring Devil Pup with me. Come Saturday morning, you guessed it. I was headin' west. Due to my car problems, my mom drove me halfway and we met Sis2 and Goofus. Miss Libby had fun riding in Goofus's big truck. I, on the other hand, wish he'd get some side steps. I'm 5' 5" on a good day and with my knees the way they are...Needless to say, I'm in mucho pain this morning. But anyway, back to the story. So, we hung out at their house for an hour or so arguing over what movie to go see and when movie times start and etc. etc. We finally hit the road for Madison around 11:00 or so putting us there around ...

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

And pray the car starts. *sigh* While we're collecting for a 1) digital camera and 2) new couch for Jana, can I make a suggestion for a more urgent fund? A "Fix Jana's car or buy her a new one" fund? Grrrr... I think the ignition switch is going out on it, though my dad swears that can't be it. When he shows me his mechanics certificate maybe I won't argue with him. Far as I'm concerned that's what the problem is since it's the ignition that keeps fighting with me. Last night...*shakes head* I had to work till 6pm. It was dark and raining when I left. Got out to the car and Whoops! What's that? It will turn over but immediately dies? And the ignition switch is popping? I had this horrible vision flash before my eyes of either a) sleeping in my car or b) having to call someone to come get me and take me home. The only family I have left in town live out further than I do and would NOT have been happy being called in the dark and rain to come pic...
