Happy Girl

She got all A's on her report card this quarter. To celebrate, her mama got her the Elsa t-shirt. She was thrilled.   So proud.

Happy Dance

Is it weird/sad that a new lampshade purchased with birthday money makes me happy dance? Cause it totally does. :-D

Saturday Sunday Had a most excellent birthday weekend.

What tired looks like.

I've been on my feet all. Day. Long. Just sat down at my desk about 15 minutes ago and now I can't get back up.  Tired. Lazy eye and all. Can't even fake a smile.  And yes. I WOULD like some cheese with my whine. ;-)

Better Day

Feeling somewhat better today. Co-worker settled down today and while I'm still a little miffed at Sis1, I'm not letting it get me down. I am worn slap out, though. To the bone and the bone's worn out, too! haha I am heavy into shifting books again with a new and strict deadline. Have I mentioned this already? All my days/words/thoughts are running together. Anyway, new boss is on my case CONSTANTLY about getting the shift complete. I mean, HOUNDING me. So it's 5 hours a day (give or take) on my feet sorting, shifting and interfiling the massive book collection. Granted, I realize I slacked off on it some the past couple of years but it just fell to the bottom of the priority list. Anyway, so I've got till June 30th to put this project to bed or else. I don't know what the "else" is, exactly but I'm going to do my darndest to git-r-done so that I don't have to figure that out. I'm going to finish this junk if it kills me. And I'm ha...

Ugh

Today was a dreary day. Both weather-wise as well as mood wise. Weather is cold, damp and gloomy. Mood started out happy but went south after an email from Sis1 which basically said that she has more important things to so than celebrate my birthday this weekend. She's still coming but only for a few hours--probably just in time to eat--but then they have to get back because they've decided that they want to go to the coast a day earlier than they'd originally planned. Not coming Friday night because she wants to go see a movie. Never occurred to her that we have a theater here and could have a sisters night out.  So yeah. I'm bottom of the priority list. Doesn't surprise me, but still annoys me. Hurts my feelings.  Then a coworker/friend made me mad with her bossy overbearing know-it-all attitude. Really wanted to snatch her hair out.  But I took a deep breath, said a prayer and took a page from Elsa's book and let it go. ;-) I can't cha...

Spring!!

Kid Time

So. I took a few hours off from work to play with the kids while Lyssa's out for spring break. We played Candy Land (I won the first game but Lyssa kicked my butt on the two following games.), cattle drive (Chick-fil-A's version if war) and we had to call it a draw because the game was going in forever.) and bingo (we each won a game). We also watched movies and three episodes of Tom and Jerry. And other silliness.  Went to Sonic for lunch and acted like a bunch of monkies. I wish every day was that fun and carefree.

Imma Weirdo

Is it weird that going to a restaurant I've never been to before stresses me out a little? Every place seems to have a different system for ordering and receiving food. And don't get me started on the different drink station set ups. And omigosh the places that have their full menu (and I'm talking FULL ON COMPLICATED) on a chalkboard above the counter and it's SOMANYCHOICES!!  Half the time I don't even know what I'm looking at and they're all, "What can I get you?" and I'm too embarrassed to say, "I don't know!" Yes, yes. I know I'm weird. I like a paper menu that I can sit somewhere quietly and peruse without someone staring at me expectantly. And I like to be told when drinks/coffee is self serve and where to find those drinks. I'm not a terribly intuitive person. Or I like simple menus above the counter where the choices are spaced evenly and cleanly and I can easily spot, "Okay, here are the breakfast items....

I make this face a lot.

Saturday Rejoicing

It's 63* outside, the sun is out and Libs and I are soaking it in. We spent a good thirty minutes outside hiking our acre of the world and now we're in the house kicked back with the windows open and all that glorious fresh air streaming in like Spring. March is impressing me.  This is a beautiful day that The Lord has made. I intend to rejoice in it.
