How I spent my Saturday.

Shopping, eating, shopping, and coffee.  I'm exhausted!

Weekend things

We have had the ugliest Autumn this year. It's hot, dry and yucky and the leaves are all brown and dead with nothing remotely pretty about them right now.  But Saturday the weather was nice, if still unseasonably warm at 72*, so I threw the windows open and let some fresh air in and while they were open I took this shot of the trees. I titled it "Autumn through my window" when I posted it on Instagram but, you know, it's kinda a lie because I had to add a filter to it to make it look remotely like autumn. The sunset was no joke. It filtered in through the window and Libs soaked it in. No filter necessary for this one. It, by the way, was also shot through my window, hence the little grainy grid of the screen that's slightly visible. Would have been an even better shot if not for the light pole and lines and junk. The price we pay for modern conveniences. You know, besides the actual money we pay. haha Alabama is having an ugly dead autumn, as well...

Triumph!

I've been trying to eat better/healthier for the past few weeks and not doing a hot job of it. I mean, probably 75% of the time I'm eating healthier but there's always temptation. You may recall that my friends at work like to eat out. It's been a common theme the past several years that they twist my arm to go with them two sometimes three times a week. And because I'm weak, love eating out, and hate being left out, I usually cave. I've gotten a taste of what it's like to save and put back a little of the money I normally budget for these trips, though and that, if nothing else is helping me more than any willpower to eat healthier. Which leads to today's triumph...E twisted my arm HARD, guilted and even tried shaming me into going to Panda Express for orange chicken with her...which, if you know me at all, you know that orange chicken is one of my greatest weaknesses. But ya'll...I stood firm, said "thanks but no thanks, I brought my lunch...
