Phantum Clock Setter

Image
So, I don't know if my house is haunted or my VCR/DVD combo thingy is going nuts. Either way, it's kinda freaky when TWICE the previously unset clock on the VCR/DVD combo has been set and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I did not set it. I haven't actually set the clock on the blasted thing in YEARS because every time I set it, the power goes out and unsets it.  The numbers are so small I can't read it from any point in the room other than with my face mere inches away, anyway. The process of re-setting it is more trouble than it's worth. A few weeks ago, though, I noticed that instead of the --:-- it usually sports when the unit is off, it was sporting numbers. Granted, the time it was set for was ten hours behind the actual time, but how did the numbers get there to begin with? Unless Libby's grown some opposable thumbs (Trixie, is that right? opposable?? Spell check on here says no.) and taken an interest in technology. One might suspect...

Anatomy of a Birthday Evening

Image
"Libby! Come on! We're goin' on a roadtrip!" "Where are we goin', Mama?" "We're going to Nana and Bobo's." "Why, Mama?" "'Cause Bobo's cookin' us a steak, Libs." "I love you, Mama." "Let's try to keep it 'tween the twitches, Libs." "We're here!" "Mmmm, salad." "Mmmmmmm...Steak! Baked Potato! Cheddarwurst! Bread! I'm in heaven!" "Burp." Later that evening back at home... Ring Ring "It's BFF calling to wish me Happy Birthday!" "I think I need a cookie, Libs." "I give you a pedicure for your birthday, Mama!" "Ooo, Ghost Hunters is on. Let's see what Grant and the gang find this week." "That was good. What's that? Fact or Faked is back? What a lovely birthday present, Syfy!" "I'm tired, Mama. Let's record it and g...

Dear Library Ghost...

It was funny when you randomly locked doors we don't usually lock but to which we have keys. It was disconcerting when you started leaving random doors open that for security purposes were to remain closed and locked. When you began turning on lights on various stack tiers it was annoying. And when you began hiding books and other materials it was a real pain in the hiney. But locking file cabinets for which we have no keys? That's just plain MEAN. So. Please go bug someone else. The circulation department has been acting snotty lately. You know, if you need suggestions. Sincerely, Me P.S. If you could also stop audibly walking around in the stack tier above the one I'm currently shelving in, that would be great.

Lightening Up

Image
To make up for the last three posts all being downer hug inducing posts, I bring you... Because THAT smile on THAT face never fails to make the day brighter, happier and just all around better. Having Grant from Ghost Hunters on the TV in the background doesn't hurt, either. hehehe Now, question: Was the DP-- a) sitting on my lap trying to block the TV b) about to beg for a belly rub c) just finished burping in my face d) all of the above. If you answered "d" you'd be correct! You don't really win anything but doesn't it make you feel good to be a winner?? :-D

I Wonder

You may already know this about me, but I have a slight fascination with things that go bump in the night. Hence my love for the series Ghost Hunters and ghostly movies. (And TV shows like A Haunting .) And you may recall the story of the ghost I felt I lived with for seven years. And sometimes I feel like it's ME that's haunted, and not necessarily the places I've lived. Because I never told ya'll this, but not long after I moved into the apartment last year, I had an experience very similar to the sort of experiences I had at the old lake house. The being woken in the middle of the night by a heavy presence looming over me, the bed shaking and once I SWEAR I heard someone giggle, though I wasn't certain if it were a supernatural being or some kids outside my bedroom window. But it was only the once and it scared me just a wee bit. And then, not too long ago, I experienced the same sort of experience at my new house. The bed indenting as though someone had just sa...

Disappointment. I haz it.

Grant (ghost hunters) put a privacy block on his MySpace. *sob* That's what I get for not "friending" him when I first found it. Now I bet he's not taking friends. Yeah. I'm a geek. I just loves me some Grant. And some Ghost Hunters. But mostly Grant. lol I'll hafta come back tomorrow to tell of my Thanksgiving week. Not a lot to tell but I'm too deep in dispair to think of it all now. ;-)

Question of the Day

Is it sad that I get excited when I find MySpace pages for my favorite Ghost Hunters cast? LOL Just found Barry, Dustin and Andy. Giggled like the nerdy school girl I've always been when I stumbled on Barry's. Hunky Irishmen are on the top of my to-crush on list. hehehehe

Fall is more than pretty leaves...

It's also NEW TELEVISION!!! Yay!! It isn't sad, not at all, that I'm so excited. Television isn't my life but it sure makes it funner! hehe So okay, lets see...what am I looking forward to? Well, I just realized that for the next little while Sunday nights are going to be "Wife Nights." Not because I have a wife (lol) but because Desperate Housewives returns Sunday night at 8 followed by Army Wives on Lifetime. Both about wives but very different kinds of wives. hehehe Monday night...(wait for it...) Chuck returns! Yee Haw! I've been missin' him somethin' fierce these last several months. Zachary Levi and his yummy self...*swoon* And of course there's also Heroes on Monday nights. Tuesday nights, I never really much cared for in the past. Last season Tuesday's were my Netflix nights because there was nothing worth watching on TV. This season, however, I think I'll tune in to watch The Mentalist . I watched the premiere this past Tue...

What did I do last night, Brain?

Image
The same thing I do every Wednesday night, Pinky. Moon over Grant. hehehehehe Oh yeah, and I played nerd, taking pictures of the TV. Actually, that was LAST Wednesday night, though. LOL But ain't he a cutie? His wife's so lucky. *dreamy sigh*

Silliness is in ME

Last night whenever they would show previews of the all new Ghost Hunters, I'd close my eyes or look away. It was supposed to be some really awesome evidence and I didn't need no stinkin' spoilers, thankyouverymuch. Turns out it was some wicked AWESOME evidence. To me and apparently them, anyway. A ghost that not only responded to their yes or no questions but also turned a flashlight on when they asked it too. BUT, the ghosties musta only liked Jay and Grant (and let's face it, I'd stand on my head and sing Yanky Doodle for Grant) because they didn't really come out and play with the other investigators. Okay, so a little bit with Steve and Tango (who needs to ditch the hat, dude.) but not much more than walking past the EMF reader. And you know, I think it's kinda funny that in each episode they show the clips explaining what EMF readers are and what they're used for and what EVP is and how that works. I suppose it's useful if you're just now t...
