I'm Alive...

just consumed with this pesky paycheck earning thing . Will return at some point in this lifetime to regal ya'll with tales of weed eating and car washing. hehehehehehehe

Snore

I'm tired, dusty and sooooo ready to go home. *sigh* You know, I'm really starting to kick myself for not being as diligent in my job as I should have been. This getting stuff squared away before I change jobs thing is really kickin' my butt. Oy! But there's no rest for the wicked. I have to be up bright and early in the morning for a baby shower planning session. My mother and aunt are supposedly planning one of Sis2's baby showers. I wasn't supposed to have to do anything for it. I certainly didn't want to run myself and my credit card to the ground like I did when she got married. I co-planned two showers for her back then. And while I enjoyed it, I had no plans of repeating that for any baby showers. Mostly because I'm such a control freak when it comes to that sort of thing that I knew I wouldn't really want to work with anyone else. (for the two bridal showers, I did all the planning and prep. The people who co-hosted with me either just provid...

Thirteen Reasons to Put Off Mowing the Lawn 1. I just got home. I need to rest a minute. 2. It’s too hot outside right now. I’ll wait till later in the evening when it’s cooler. 3. That stationary bike needs riding. These hips aren’t going to melt away on their own! (Yes. I’d rather exercise than mow the lawn.) 4. I really need to read a bit so I can keep up with my challenge blog. 5. You’re supposed to wait an hour after you eat to do anything physical, right? 6. Ooo! My show’s on. Got to watch that first. 7. And while I’m at it, I may as well watch this show I taped earlier, right? 8. Oops! It’s supposed to rain. Despite the sunshine, I’d better wait to see what it’s going to do. 9. The Devil Pup is feeling neglected. I’d better play with her. 10. And I really should sort through the junk mail on the counter. 11. Huh. That coffee pot needs washing. 12. Oh, it’s 7:00. I don’t want to crank up and disturb the neighbor’s this late. You know, just because they think it’s fine to rev t...

Over it?

Maybe. I haven't decided. Yesterday's situation was resolved and for all intents and purposes it's at rest but...I'm still a little miffed that this person tried to a) manipulate me b) take advantage of me and c) put me in a situation that could potentially cause more problems for me than it would have this person. All because this person didn't want to come out the bad guy. No, that's where I was supposed to come in like gangbusters. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for helping a friend /family member out when needed. I love being someone that others can depend on and trust to be there when needed. But, I'm learning as I get older that there is a fine line between helping others and being a doormat. Personally, I'm sick of sporting all these shoe prints on my back, you know? And as hurt and aggravated as I am at this person, I'm also angry at myself because I let this person and others do this sort of thing so many times in the past. Why would...

Too Stupid to Live

Um, that would be me. Remind me to never, ever, never, EVER bend over backwards to help out family members/friends. Once they got you bent over they push and push until your back snaps and you're in a bloody whimpering heap. Or in my case, so steaming mad at and aggravated with that person/people and MYSELF that I'd really like to use some choice four letter words that I don't normally like to use and tell somebody how I really feel. I should have just said "no" to start with. But noooooo . I had to go and try to be all helpful and worse still, I had to go that extra mile and offer to do something bigger than initially requested all in the name of being helpful. Well, it's kicking me in the butt now. Big time. And I swear, if we make it through this one alive I'm going to have my "extra mile" chromosome surgically removed. It ain't worth all this crap. But, ya'll will be glad to know that I have, indeed, learned to say "no."...

How much action...

is too much action? Oy! Talk about your run on sentences. LOL This is one I very nearly posted on my latest Drifter's story post. Shocked at the unfamiliar intimacy, she wriggled until she’d pushed his hands from her sensitized flesh and pushed him away until he stood two feet in front of her, his hands dangling at his sides. Thankfully I caught this one but it makes me wonder...How many more have slipped through the cracks? :-O

This, That and the Other

I think I probably already have a post somewhere by that name but it sums up the weekend fairly nicely. ;-) Friday (why do I keep wanting to spell it Firday?) night Mama (half-heartedly, or so it felt) decided to call Daddy and have him meet us at Applebee's to celebrate the new job. And I say half-heartedly because she was like, "I need to go get my shopping done. Or did you want to go out tonight?" And I'm like, (yeah, I know I'm totally valley girl. Get over it!) "I don't care. Whatever you want to do." because I'm not going to beg anyone to take me out to do anything, much less celebrate. If they don't want to celebrate I don't really want to celebrate with them. Know what I mean? But I asked her if she'd called Daddy and asked him and of course she hadn't. By this point I'm thinking I should just let her do her shopping and go home but she calls Daddy and he bitches about how tired he is, he just pulled the four wheeler...

So okay. '07's not so bad.

So it seems that finally finally it's my turn to have some things go right. *grin* I got a new job! hehehehehe Okay, so ya'll didn't even know I was applying. I know. I was playing my cards close to my chest and yada yada. Obviously, it's not smart to blab too much work info on a blog even though I KNOW I'm notorious for putting way too much personal info out there. LOL What can I say? I'm so quiet in real life that when my fingertips touch the keyboard everything I don't or can't say out loud comes pouring out like the puss from a busted blister. hehehehehe Yeah, I know that's disturbing and gross but so is some of the stuff I confess. But anyway, I digress. I'm newly employed. Well, I got a new position, anyway. Same library. Same department, even. Just...new job and a (slightly) bigger salary. Oh, and those pesky things called responsibilities. Whole new set of them. Which means training and junk. But bigger salary! Yay! And I get the disting...

Feeling Silly

I think I've finally cracked. LOL I was talking to Libby last night (Because that's what pet owners do, you know.) and mused that Slimfast seriously needs to invent a meal-on-the-go bar that tastes like steak and baked potato. hehehehehehe (It really WOULD be a good idea!) And I've started answering all questions with "Chicken butt." (No, not at work, but I did it to my mom yesterday!) Used to be I'd only respond to someone's "What?" with "Chicken butt." when they were sticking their noses in conversations they weren't really included in. Or if I was, you know, being a smart alec. I think I'm regressing to my youth, though. (You know, last year? hehehe) In fact, I've started calling Libby "chicken butt." She's not so fond of it. Especially when I sing it. Of course, she didn't like it when I sang "Oh, Libby Lu, oh Libby Lu" to the tune of "Oh Christmas Tree" either. Think it has to do wi...

Thoughts and Prayers

My thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the Virginia Tech shootings. God be with you all.

You know something else disturbing? He talked a bit about a documentary he watched yesterday afternoon on a new Christian network. It was a documentary about William Carry, a famous Christian and so called founder of the Baptist denomination. Know what I watched yesterday afternoon? Original Sin. Oy! LOL

Eww!

I think Mama has a bigger crush on the preacher than I do. Went to church last night. We're walking out, shaking the preacher's hand and such and...she tells him she loves him. Blech! LOL No, I know, it's not THAT kind of love but still...Kinda sucked out the rest of any lingering crush type feelings I had for him. Seriously I didn't know whether to laugh or throw up. He told her he loves her too, though, so heck maybe I should start calling him Papa? ROFLOL

A Week Later...

And then Mama (aka, Nana) joins us And hootchie mama in training, Miss Emmy showing off her backless dress. She's almost runway ready, doncha think?

Thirteen Reasons I Live Alone 1. I like my space. 2. The remote control is mine all mine. 3. There is virtue in silence. 4. It’s nice to be able to scratch my butt and not have to endure commentary. 5. Clothing optional. Well, it used to be. The Devil Pup demands I at LEAST wear my undies! Hehehehehe 6. No one knows how many times I hit the snooze button in the morning. 7. Streaking from the bathroom to the bedroom without prying eyes. 8. The stereo can go as loud as I want it to. (It helps that my nearest neighbors are across the road from me and not next door…or on the other side of the wall!) 9. No one to cook for but me…and only when I wanna. 10. If I don’t care if the kitchen’s a mess who else is gonna? 11. Coming and going when I please. 12. The Devil Pup doesn’t notice or care if I remain in my pj’s all day and she LOVES my ratty old t-shirts. 13. No one to laugh at me when I dance. Links to other Thursday Thirteens! 1. Pain in the...

Tooth? Ugh! I hate toothaches. Especially when the dentist says there's no reason he can see why it's aching and therefore sends you home with an achy tooth. *sob* Yeah, I have this tooth. It aches. When I went to the dentist Monday for my cleaning I told them about it, they did an x-ray, checked it out, examined my gums, etc. I do have a cavity but it's on a different tooth on the opposite side of my mouth. The tooth that's aching? Nothing. They couldn't find any apparent reason for it to be aching. So I'm sitting here with a throbbing tooth and nothing to do about it except whine on my blog about it and pop Advil Liqui-gels. Life sucks. LOL

What up, dude?

I'm back in the land of the living. So to speak, anyway. I'm here, ain't I? Physically, at least. So I s'pose ya'll wanna know what I did over the weekend. Hmmm...If I can remember it all, I'll tell ya. Don't know what got into me but for some reason I started cleaning Thursday night. My bedroom had become a disaster area of magazines and shoes and junk and well, I'm not sixteen anymore. My bedroom should be clean, right? Besides, it's the only room in the house that's just for me. Okay, so yeah. I live alone. All the rooms are theoretically mine. But every other room in the house receives visitors. My bedroom, does not. (Save for those rare occasions that Emmy sleeps over and we share.) It's my sanctuary. So I got in there Thursday night and cleared out all the old magazines, bagged up all the shoes I don't wear or like, cleaned out the bottom of my closet and *gasp* organized it. Now all my shoes (what's left) sit perfectly aligned ...

Winter's Last Hurrah!

So apparently winter decided to give us one last final show before bowing out completely. Yep. We're in a cold snap. It's not like, freezing or anything but it's definitely cold. And it IS supposed to be frosty Saturday night. Yay. Not. I got my hair cut. I'm bald! LOL Not really. It's up to my shoulders. But it feels naked. Like, there's no hair hanging down my back. I feel lighter. Light headed. No, I haven't been drinking. I can definitely do a better hair toss now. No so much on the flip. But the toss? Yep. You know, kinda like Cameron Diaz in Charlie's Angels, wasn't it? hehehehehehe I'm sooooo looking forward to a long weekend. Four. Whole. Days. (Trix, I almost wrote "hole"! Eek! lol) We get off tomorrow for Good Friday and I'm playing hookie on Monday. I need a couple of WEEKS but figured one day might do me. For now. Sis1 and her crew aren't coming in until Saturday afternoon so I won't have to deal with her/them t...

Just Stuff

I was pleased to find out this weekend that my favorite cast from the A&E show, Flip This House , The Trademark Team is getting a new show on TLC called the Real Deal. They had a special on Saturday night that was really good. That's how I found out about the new series. Being of a curious nature, I did a little research on them Monday. Turns out that there is this big drama between them and A&E about the recasting of Flip This House in which now Trademark and A&E are in a lawsuit. Apparently A&E screwed them out of the show even though the CEO of Trademark, Richard Davis, created the show. High Drama in reality TV. Go figure. LOL Ya'll remember how disappointed I was, though, right? Probably not but I was. The new casts just weren't as good, though I have to say, the Montelongo's (San Antonio crew) grew on me. Apparently there's this whole world of message boarders who hate them, though. Funny how weirdly passionate people can be when they're f...
